*** Michigan made the Top 6 for On300 Copperas Cove (Texas) High offensive tackle Michael Uini. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Texas made the cut as well. Every school except Texas is currently slated to receive an OV. Michigan is a true dark horse here. U-M offensive line coach Sherrone Moore saw him twice this spring, and Uini loved his unofficial visit in the winter. Winning over mom on his official visit will be huge — she did not make the first trip. Uini isn’t a true Texas kid, which helps. He was born in Washington before moving to Georgia and finally the Lone Star State. Right now, he’s pretty open.
*** Michigan made the Top 6 for On300 Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga EDGE DD Holmes. We haven’t talked about Holmes in a while, but Michigan recently started picking things up with him. The Wolverines saw him during their blitz in the DMV, and obviously, there is a connection with 2023 signee Evan Link, who is from the same high school. Michigan is probably on the back half of this list, but things could get interesting next month. I think Florida, Florida State and South Carolina have momentum.
*** Michigan also made the Top 6 for On300 Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow cornerback Tehryon Nichols, who I included in my mock class. This one is an interesting one for a couple of reasons. If Ohio State gets Aaron Scott, I see Nichols at Michigan. If Michigan gets Scott, I see him at Ohio State. Penn State and Kentucky are two schools that could surprise in this recruitment. A lot will be determined on official visits next month. Right now, U-M is slated to get the final OV on June 23. Remember, Scott is expected to come in on June 16.
*** Lastly, Michigan made the Top 4 for four-star Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day wide receiver Bredell Richardson. This dude is the most forgotten name on the Michigan wide receiver board, but he is a take for the Wolverines. Michigan is expected to receive an official visit, and Richardson has remained in contact with lead recruiter Ron Bellamy. Richardson also happens to be a close friend of U-M quarterback commit Jadyn Davis. Right now, LSU seems to have the edge. NIL friendly schools Oregon and Michigan State are also in play.
