Blue Chips: Breaking down Top 100 Michigan WR target Dyzier Carter

Blue Chips: Breaking down Top 100 Michigan WR target Dyzier Carter

I recently caught up with Adam McCann of King to King Athletic Training & Mentoring. McCann serves as a mentor and guide for Top 100 2026 Woodberry Forest (Va.) School wide receiver Dyzier Carter. McCann shared his thoughts on Carter and more.

Here are some highlights from the interview.

On his overall thoughts on Carter:

“Dyzier brings route running, toughness and that dawg mentality. He goes and gets the ball. He brings finesse. Most importantly, he brings energy. He’s never down. He’s always up and trying to compete. Once the clock starts, he’s going to compete. He’s just a dawg overall.”

On Carter’s biggest strengths:

“The tops of his routes have gotten a lot better over the last year. His hands. His release is really good and explosive. He can slow it down at times and then explode. His route running. He was at a camp and hit a guy full speed. He slowed down and dropped him for a comeback. He’s learned how to be a technician. He takes constructive criticism and applies it to his route running.”

On if Carter projects more in the slot or on the outside:

“I think he can move around because of how fierce of a competitor he is. He wants to impact the game whether the ball is in his hands or not. He can draw bracket coverage no matter where he is on the field — inside or outside.”

On a player comparison for Carter:

“It was funny because we were talking about this the other day when LSU hit him up. I said Odell Beckham. He goes ‘coach, that’s my favorite player.’ That’s who he wants to be like. He has the swag like that. He has the finesse and energy. He’s dancing before the game and vibing out. Just how they perform and get after it.”

On how Carter would fit in at Michigan:

“I think that would fit really well for him. If you look at some of the receivers that have come out of Michigan recently, they are route runners. They have running backs, so if you crowd the box, they can go over the top. I think it would be dynamic, especially with Michigan getting some good quarterbacks. Their staff has been upfront and honest. They do their homework. They aren’t car salesmen. They get back to you. Coach Tony (Alford) has connected me with other coaches in the building, and it’s been a blessing.”
