Big-Time JUCO Cornerback Sets USC Official Visit

USC has only offered a handful of junior college prospects since the arrival of Lincoln Riley, but Coach Donte Williams offered 2024 College of Mateo (CA) CB Sione Laulea on April 2. 

Laulea has also recently earned offers from USC, Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma, BYU, Penn St., Illinois, Louisville, Utah, Florida St., Iowa St., Colorado, USF and San Jose St.

So far Laulea’s taken official visits to Utah (May 30), Penn St. (June 2), Miami (June 9) and has USC scheduled for this weekend (June 15).

USC gets fourth official visit

The 6-4 and 185 pounder would provide a college experienced player to Williams’s defensive backs room at USC. Next season the Trojans will need younger guys to step up and replace the likes Jacobe Covington, Max Williams, Calen Bullock and Bryson Shaw.

He was scheduled to visit for the April 15 USC Spring game, but had to reschedule. 

“I’m coming around June,” said Laulea two weeks ago.

Laulea now has his fourth official set with one remaining in June should he choose to use it. Our best guess is Laulea will visit Oregon or Oklahoma…perhaps both if he takes any officials after June 30. Players aren’t limited to just five official visits come July 1. The schools still have the same number available to host, but players aren’t limited with how many they take.
