Big Board: Re-shuffling the Kansas State top targets

Big Board: Re-shuffling the Kansas State top targets

1.) Kansas State tight end target Linkon Cure

No news is good news when it comes to Goodland tight end Linkon Cure. His recruitment remains status quo, which is a good thing for Kansas State. The Wildcats are still out in front with Oregon running second. After speaking with Cure at the Sharp Performance Combine, my confidence in him playing his college football in Manhattan has not subsided.

2.) Offensive lineman Lucas Allgeyer

Along with Cure, another long-term target for K-State is St. Louis offensive lineman Lucas Allgeyer. It appears to be a two-horse race between the Wildcats and Iowa. My pick would be Kansas State. However, it may not be right after his official visit June 7-9 and could be later in the Summer.

3.) Offensive lineman Brock Heath

To be honest, it has been very quiet on Blue Valley Northwest offensive lineman Brock Heath. Like with Allgeyer, it appears to be K-State versus Iowa for his services. However, I’m not sure if either school truly knows if they are leading. Heath has already visited Northwestern and will be at Kansas State June 14-16 and Iowa June 21-23.

4.)K-State linebacker target Maguire Richman

Like with Heath, it is quiet around Blue Valley linebacker Maguire Richman. He is likely in a race to be one of the next commitments to K-State. There seems to be more buzz about the Wildcats than Iowa, where his brother is a starting offensive lineman.

I’m very grateful to have received an offer from Kansas State University! #EMAW pic.twitter.com/lf8RQ2xEu4

5.) Linebacker Ashton Moore

Kansas State was the first Power Four school to offer Louisburg linebacker Ashton Moore. He is the younger brother of current Wildcat linebacker Austin Moore. It seems very likely that he ends up in Manhattan.

6.) Running back Monterrio Elston

Despite an Arkansas official visit on the docket for Monterrio Elston, K-State has been in the driver’s seat for a long time. I would not be shocked if he committed to Kansas State after his official visit June 21-23.

7.) Wide receiver Adonis Moise

There is strong mutual interest between the Wildcats and IMG Academy wide receiver Adonis Moise. The Florida wide receiver is another player where K-State is in the driver’s seat for going into the official visit June 7. As of now, Moise does not have any other official visits scheduled. He would be a good prediction for the next commit.

8.) Kansas State defensive end target Triston Abram

Kansas State is the team trending for St. Louis defensive end Triston Abram. Shortly after receiving the offer, he scheduled an official visit to Manhattan and they made his first cut of schools. A strong official visit could really put K-State in great shape.

9.) Safety Leo Almanza

I am very intrigued to see the recruitment of Texas safety Leo Almanza unfold. He has official visits scheduled to Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor and Houston this month. He has also already visited Utah. Remember, Almanza is originally a St. Louis native and has a strong relationship with quarterback commit Dillon Duff.

10.) K-State defensive end target Shawn Hammerbeck

There is not much known about where the recruitment of Winner, South Dakota defensive end Shawn Hammerbeck is headed. However, he will be on campus this weekend for an official visit to K-State. He will also visit Nebraska, Minnesota and Texas Tech.

11.) Offensive lineman Keiton Jones

Kansas State also appears to be a trending school for Coffeyville offensive lineman Keiton Jones. After originally scheduling official visits, Jones has re-shuffled his plans. He will now be in Manhattan June 21-23 after originally scheduling Ole Miss for that weekend. Jones will also visit Missouri and Arkansas.

12.) Kansas State safety target Dominic Mitchell

Despite being a new offer at a camp, K-State is in a good spot for Phoenix safety Dominic Mitchell. If another visit is scheduled, fireworks could very well ensue.

13.) Wide receiver Carterrious Brown

Texas wide receiver Carterrious Brown is a bit of a newer target. However, he already has an official visit scheduled to Kansas State June 7-9. He will also visit Colorado State June 14-16.

14.) Nose guard Jackson Blackwell

Another newer target for K-State is Texas-based nose guard Jackson Blackwell. Shortly after receiving an offer from the Wildcats, he scheduled an official visit. He will be in Manhattan June 7-9. Texas Tech gets the first crack at Blackwell June 4-6 and he will also visit Baylor June 14-16 and Houston June 21-23.

15.) Corner Martel Jackson

Another new camp offer, Derby corner Martel Jackson, could be one to watch going forward. There are not many players on the board at the position and Jackson would fit the bill. Being early to extend a scholarship to the Sunflower State native could be a major factor for Kansas State.

16.) K-State wide receiver target Gio Richardson

Arizona wide receiver Gio Richardson has an official visit scheduled to K-State June 14-16. The first school to get a crack at him is new Big 12 foe Arizona State. He will visit Tempe this weekend. If Richardson makes it to Manhattan, the Wildcats have a shot to secure his services.

17.) Running back DJ Dugar

It will be interesting to see how the running back situation plays out for Kansas State. The Wildcats likely only need one and are in a great spot for Elston. That could leave out Texas running back DJ Dugar. The Texas running back also has official visits scheduled to Cal and Michigan State.

18.) Safety Brandon Wilson

K-State was the first school to offer Shawnee Mission West safety Brandon Wilson. I am intrigued to see where his recruitment goes from here because he seems willing to take his time. If he does that, will he still have a spot?

After a great camp and conversation with @CoachKlanderman i am blessed to receive my first division 1 offer from @KStateFB!!! @VikingFootball1 @HarperIsland24 pic.twitter.com/TF9XOAuIXG

19.) Wide receiver Isaiah Mizell

Florida-based wide receiver Isaiah Mizell has two official visits scheduled. He will be at Syracuse this weekend and Kansas State June 14-16. Mizell did not have his offer from K-State for long before scheduling his official visit and holds a strong relationship with Matthew Middleton.

20.) Running back Ryver Peppers

I am also intrigued to see where Ryver Peppers goes. Kansas State and Iowa State seem to be the teams best positioned for his services. However, the number crunch may have an impact. I also am not sure if he will be a running back at the next level.

21.) Corner JoJo Scott

JoJo Scott will be taking an official visit to K-State June 14-16. He also has official visits scheduled to Oregon State, Wisconsin and Kansas. It may end up being a battle between the Wildcats and Jayhawks.

22.) Linebacker Julius Simms

A mystery is the recruitment of Julius Simms. He has an official visit to Kansas State set up for June 14-16. He will also visit Houston and Kansas before his time in Manhattan.

23.) Kansas State offensive line target Blake Cherry

To be honest, it does not seem like it will be in the cards between K-State and Blake Cherry. Though he has an official visit scheduled to see the Wildcats, Kansas State is in a better spot for Allgeyer, Heath and Jones.
