Big board: A shake-up among the main Kansas State targets

Big board: A shake-up among the main Kansas State targets

TOP KANSAS STATE TARGETS

1.) MICHAEL BOGANOWSKI (Last: 1)

It’s been a busy spring for the No. 1 prospect in the state. Michael Boganowski has visited many schools, including seeing Kansas State three different times. In his last update, he told KSO that K-State feels more like home than any of his other choices.

2.) KAEDIN MASSEY (Last: 5)

Kaedin Massey’s stock is going to continue to rise after the UC Report Camp in Kansas City a week ago. He was one of the top offensive line performers in what was a stacked group. Since the camp, he has already been offered by Ole Miss. The next step for him will be to schedule official visits. We anticipate Kansas State receiving one of those from the Lyndon native.

3.) KYLE RAKERS (Last: 3)

While he remains patient and thorough, everything is status quo for Kyle Rakers and K-State. He will likely take an official visit to Kansas State and make a decision in the Summer.

4.) GRANT BRIX (Last: 4)

To be honest, no news is probably good news when it comes to Grant Brix for the Wildcats. K-State is hoping being the Iowa offensive lineman’s first offer will pay off in a big way.

Had a great time @KStateFB! Thanks for having me @Coach_Middleton. @RPHS_FB @Coach_LaFavers @CoachKScholz. pic.twitter.com/OeAnECzXRY

5.) ASHTON BETHEL-ROMAN (Last: 11)

Kansas State is still in the mix for the No. 82 player in the country Ashton Bethel-Roman. He came away very impressed with K-State and has a relationship with freshman wide receiver Andre Davis that goes back to when they were five years old. The Wildcats will likely receive an official visit from the Texas native. It is probably going to be a Big 12 battle between Texas Tech, Baylor and Kansas State.

6.) DONTRELL HOLT (Last: UR)

Dontrell Holt was another standout at the UC Report Camp. His recruitment will likely be a head-to-head battle between K-State and Iowa State. A Summer decision after official visits is likely for the Joplin native.

7.) EMERSON MANDELL (Last: 15)

Minnesota offensive lineman Emerson Mandell is starting to see his recruitment blow up, as Texas A&M and Penn State joined the party. However, he was in Manhattan during the Spring and admitted his visit to The Little Apple was his favorite trip of the Spring. Don’t be surprised if Kansas State lands an official visit.

8.) DEVON JORDAN (Last: 10)

Oklahoma cornerback Devon Jordan is yet another standout from the UC Report Camp. He has great size and can really, really run. He was in Manhattan earlier in the Spring. TCU may be the leader in the clubhouse for the junior, though.

9.) CJ BROWN (Last: 8)

While Arkansas receiver CJ Brown was on the K-State campus to watch a practice, it has been kind of silent on his recruitment ever since. Stay tuned for where he schedules official visits in the Summer.

10.) CARSON WILLIAMS (Last: 23)

Don’t be surprised if Houston defensive back Carson Williams is the next Kansas State commit. His relationship with Van Malone is very powerful.

11.) KENNEDY URLACHER (Last: UR)

Arizona safety Kennedy Urlacher was in Manhattan on April 8, and the K-State visit was a success. Notre Dame might be hard to beat out for his services, though.

12.) CALEB REDD (Last: 16)

To be honest, there isn’t a whole lot out there on the recruitment of St. Louis defensive end Caleb Redd. He made a trip to Norman to see Oklahoma and Kansas State during spring football. An official visit to K-State is in the works.

13.) JAYSHAWN ROSS (Last: UR)

While at one time Jayshawn Ross looked like a national recruit, his priorities have shifted towards local schools. It is likely going to be a battle between Kansas, Missouri and Kansas State for the four-star prospect.

14.) ALEX MARTIN (Last: UR)

Not many nose guards have visited the K-State campus, but Little Rock native Alex Martin was in Manhattan not long ago. He was blown away by Kansas State and admitted to KSO that the Wildcats are at the top of his list.

15.) BODEY MCCASLIN (Last: 22)

It is honestly very impressive the amount of offensive linemen Conor Riley has had on the K-State campus for visits. Illinois native Bodey McCaslin is another one and has Kansas State in his top group.

16.) ISAIAH MCMORRIS (Last: 9)

While K-State has hung around for Nebraska receiver Isaiah McMorris, his recruitment is likely getting away from them. He did not visit the Wildcats on April 11, but a visit may be happening later this month. A visit needs to happen for Kansas State to remain in the mix.

17.) NAVARRO SCHUNKE (Last: UR)

South Dakota offensive lineman Navarro Schunke is another offensive lineman who has been to Manhattan in the Spring. While he was on campus, K-State extended a scholarship offer. It is not known where he stands on the Wildcats’ board just yet.

18.) ASHTON MCSHANE (Last: UR)

Cornerback Ashton McShane has also visited Kansas State. K-State blew him away on his Manhattan trip and he admitted that he may not take any more visits because of his affinity for the Wildcats. However, he is starting to see his recruitment take off a bit. Washington State and Boston College have offered the Lone Star State native in the last few days.

19.) FATU MUKUBA (Last: 19)

K-State may need to see a bit more from Fatu Mukuba before they pursue him further.

20.) VINNY WINTERS (Last: 21)

Arkansas offensive lineman Vinny Winters is probably a little less likely now that Kansas State is likely no longer targeting his high school teammate Jalen Dupree.

21.) WYATT GILMORE (Last: 17)

Watch where Minnesota defensive lineman Wyatt Gilmore schedules his official visits. That will tell us more where the Wildcats stand with him, but we’re not optimistic about the chances for K-State. heck, their preferences may be elsewhere as well.

22.) MARCUS NEAL (Last: 12)

Kansas State is going to need to see more from Raytown South safety Marcus Neal before he rises up the list.

REMOVED

2.) CARSON BRUHN: Iowa tight end Carson Bruhn committed to Kansas.

6.) RILEY SUNRAM: Minnesota landed North Dakota offensive lineman Riley Sunram.

7.) JULIUS ELLENS: After landing Blue Valley running back John Price, the Wildcats will likely not be targeting Julius Ellens. However, KSO’s Derek Young does feel differently. Two running backs is still a likelihood, according to him.

13.) JESSE WATSON: It will likely not come together between K-State and East St. Louis native Jesse Watson.

14.) DOMINIK BALL: Tulane secured the services of Dominik Ball.

18.) MITCH HODNETT: There are other offensive linemen who are more relevant targets than Mitch Hodnett at the moment.

20.) JALEN DUPREE: Like with Ellens, it is hard to see Kansas State chase Jalen Dupree after landing Price.

24.) BREVIN DOLL: Iowa landed their in-state target in Brevin Doll.
