BBNFL Week 11: Will Levis connects on 98-yard bomb
The whirlwind of a season for Will Levis and his perpetually oscillating highlight and lowlight reel continued on Sunday with one of the most unimaginable plays you’ll see all season. Backed up on his own two-yard line, Will Levis threw an absolute bomb from the Titans’ end zone down the sideline to a streaking receiver who shook his man and carried the ball the length of the field for an improbable 98-yard touchdown.
The pass marked the longest scrimmage play in the NFL this season and only the 25th touchdown pass of at least 98 yards in league history. It is also the longest pass of any former Kentucky quarterback in the NFL. It probably checked the box of a few more superlatives, but you get the idea.
If that wasn’t a weird enough stat, Levis also led the Titans in rushing yards with…drumroll…18. Yep, their starting running back, Tony Pollard, carried the ball nine times for 15 yards while Levis scampered seven times for 18.
As I said, it’s been a strange year for Will Levis.
The Titans lost, of course, this time to the Vikings. And Levis threw another interception without throwing another touchdown. But, hey, at least this play turned some heads. It has been a rough season for fans of the Nashville pro team, but Levis keeps springing in little moments of brilliance like this to keep things interesting.
Za’Darius picks up a sack in his Detroit Lions debut
The rumor mill proved to be right as the Cleveland Browns traded Za’Darius Smith to the Detroit Lions right before the trade deadline. After taking a week off to study the playbook and probably learn where the office bathroom is, Smith made his Detroit Lions debut on Sunday and did so in style, coming away with a sack.
The game was an absolute blowout as the Lions, one of the best teams in the league, trounced the Jaguars, one of the worst teams in the league, in convincing fashion. Josh Paschal also started for Detroit and played well too.
But, man. Poor Josh Hines-Allen. Well, poor is probably the wrong choice of words. After this last offseason, he is quite rich. But wow, it would be awesome to see him play on a winning franchise for a change. You can’t help but feel a little bad for Kentucky’s all-time sack champ.

Will Levis wasn’t the only former ‘Cat to make a big play for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The team activated wide receiver, Bryce Oliver, from their practice squad for the third week in a row and the man who made a name for himself in the preseason earned his time on the field once again. Levis connected with him on a career-long 33-yard pass even though he played only two snaps the entire game.
Carrington Valentine played well if that’s any consolation to Bears fans. He led all of BBNFL in Week 11 with six tackles. Seriously, though, if you are a Bears fan, you knew he was going to miss that kick, right? Right? My condolences to you and yours.
