Basketball Roster Update: Jersey numbers for Alabama’s eight newcomers
The Alabama men’s basketball team updated its online roster Monday, revealing which numbers its bevy of new players will wear this upcoming season, as well as updated heights and weight.
The Crimson Tide added eight new players to its roster this offseason to go along with the four that are returning from last year’s squad that won the SEC regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the Sweet 16. Those newcomers include four transfers in Aaron Estrada, Grant Nelson, Mohamed Wague and Latrell Wrightsell Jr., as well as four players from the high school ranks in Mouhamed Dioubate, Kris Parker, Jarin Stevenson and Sam Walters.

“I am very proud of our coaching staff in being able to bring in not only high-quality players but high-character kids that will add value to our program,” said Alabama head coach Nate Oats last month. “We put an emphasis on adding veteran leadership and both our incoming freshmen and transfers have all played in big and meaningful games. We are excited to welcome both them and their families to the Alabama basketball program.”
Those eight newcomers will join four returning players to make up the 2023-24 Alabama men’s basketball team. Returning from last year’s team are guards Mark Sears and Rylan Griffen and forward Nick Pringle. Their jersey numbers, heights and weights did not change. Davin Cosby is also back after joining the program in January and redshirting this past season, and the redshirt freshman will sport No. 4 this year, which was previously worn by senior Noah Gurley.
Alabama will tip off the 2023-24 campaign at home Monday, Nov. 6, against Morehead State.
