Audric Estime injury update: Denver Broncos placing rookie RB on injured reserve
The Denver Broncos are placing Audric Estime on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, the franchise announced. He will be out a minimum of four weeks as a result.
Estime made his NFL debut last week against the Seattle Seahawks, totaling two carries for 14 yards. However, he appeared to tweak his ankle during the game, and the trainers re-taped it on the sideline. The injury was enough to land him on injured reserve, putting him on the sidelines for at least four weeks.
Denver selected Estime in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame, where he served as the lead running back in 2023. He totaled 1,341 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior before taking his talents to the next level.
This isn’t Estime’s first injury since heading to the NFL. He also underwent a procedure on his knee during the offseason, but still appeared in all three preseason games. He totaled 19 attempts for 63 yards and two touchdowns as he got ready to join a running back room that also includes Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin.
