Auburn’s Ten Most Wanted … in Georgia
Who are Auburn’s top recruiting targets?
Welcome to the original Auburn Ten Most Wanted.
In the past, we’ve probably narrowed down the Tigers’ list of notable targets too early in the calendar year. So for the 2024 recruiting class, we’ve made a major adjustment.
For the next few months, we’re breaking this down into four regions. They are:
-Alabama, Florida, Georgia and the combined area outside the typical Auburn recruiting footprint.
Then, come June 1 (or around there), when the board starts to come more into focus, we’ll drop those and go right to the all-encompassing Ten Most Wanted for the remainder of the cycle.
To compile theses lists, we’ve considered where we think each player sits on the Auburn board, Auburn’s need at the position, the Tigers’ chances of landing the prospect as well as the player’s skill set. Also, Auburn must have a legitimate shot of landing a recruit for him to make it.
These lists are extremely fluid. In recruiting, things can change on both sides in an instant. Auburn’s recruiting board will shift — and shift a lot — all the way up until National Signing Day in December.
Finally … please remember, this is our list, not Auburn’s.
Right now, the Tigers have five commitments and the No. 14 class in the country according to On3. That’s good for seventh-best in the SEC.
The Tigers secured a commitment from 3-star tight end Martavious Collins who was in our last most wanted update.
Here are the top ten most wanted in Georgia ranked in three tiers to reflect where we see them sitting on Auburn’s board.
Tier 1
–Jalyn Crawford, CB, Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview: This seems to have become a three team race between Auburn, Florida, and LSU. The Gators are newer to the picture, but have secured an official visit. Auburn and LSU have been around for a while in this recruitment. Crawford made a quiet unofficial visit to Auburn on Saturday and will officially visit on June 9-11. He may very well be Auburn’s top corner prospect on the board.
–KJ Bolden, S, Buford (Ga.): Georgia is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite with Ohio State next, then Clemson. But the 5-star recruit recently visited Auburn twice in the span of three weeks and that seems to have gone well. The Tigers are now battling to land an official visit from Bolden which seems likely at this point. Auburn has moved into the picture here as well, but it will be tough to overtake Georgia and Ohio State, it seems. Make no mistake, he is a top five want for Auburn and the staff will continue to fight.
–Daniel Calhoun, OT, Marietta (Ga.) Walton: Calhoun went from not considering Auburn at all to being a possible official visitor at Auburn in the summer. Right now, Calhoun has not set his visits, but very well could soon. When he does, we hear Auburn has a great shot to grab one. Auburn is firmly in the mix, but this will be a tough pull, no doubt.
–Justin Greene, DL, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Mountain View: Auburn is a major contender for the 4-star recruit and top-100 national prospect. He is eyeing a late-summer commitment. He was recently at Auburn for A-Day and has locked in an official visit to Auburn for June 16-18. South Carolina, LSU, and Georgia are all heavily involved as well.
–Jameson Riggs, OT, Hiram (Ga.): At one time, Clemson was thought to be the favorite. While that still may stand, Auburn has risen significantly with Riggs. Auburn quarterback commit Walker White should get some credit for that rise, but offensive line coach Jake Thornton has been key here as well. Look for Riggs to schedule an official visit to Auburn soon. There is some confidence building at Auburn that it can eventually pull this one off.
Tier 2
–Mike Matthews, WR, Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview: Matthews, a 5-star receiver, visited Auburn during March. It sounds like Auburn would give him the chance to play both football and basketball if he wanted to. Matthews is teammates with two other Auburn targets — 4-star defensive back Jalyn Crawford and 3-star defensive back Antonio White. It is unclear where Auburn stands for Matthews, but the Tigers appear to be in consideration. For now, he sits in tier two as he seems less realistic for Auburn, but the Tigers love him.
–Christian Peterson, S, Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake: Peterson last visited Auburn on March 17. That day, he called the Tigers his top program. Would they take Peterson? It is our understanding that the Tigers more than likely would. Peterson continues to be someone to closely watch in the coming weeks and months. Auburn likes Peterson as a nickel. Texas A&M and North Carolina are two other programs that seem to be heavily involved.
Tier 3
–Jalewis Solomon, ATH, Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County: Solomon visited Auburn once during the spring with his brother, 5-star 2025 edge Zayden Walker. The two are brothers with Auburn defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker. Solomon could be looked at for either side of the ball with Auburn, but the Tigers may prefer him as a defensive back. Auburn seems to be in the mix along with Florida State and a few others.
–Antonio White, DB, Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview: White, a teammate of Jalyn Crawford and Mike Matthews, recently reported an Auburn offer. He has been highly regarded by the Tigers’ staff for some time now. He is listed at receiver, but Auburn likes him as a defensive back. Could Auburn lead here? That seems very likely. He has been on our “Who’s next to commit” list for the last two editions.
–Amir Jackson, TE, Portal (Ga.): Auburn wants to add another tight end along with Collins. The Tigers want more of a receiver type in the next addition: Jackson fits the bill. He was on campus at Auburn for A-Day and plans to return for an official visit. Jackson is considering Miami, Florida, Auburn, and Georgia seriously.
