Auburn’s Ten Most Wanted
Welcome to the original Auburn Ten Most Wanted.
Who are Auburn’s top recruiting targets?
In the past, we’ve probably narrowed down the Tigers’ list of notable targets too early in the calendar year. So for the 2024 recruiting class, we made a major adjustment.
For a few months, we were breaking this down into four regions. They are:
-Ten Most Wanted … in Alabama
-Ten Most Wanted … in Georgia
-Ten Most Wanted … in Florida
-Ten Most Wanted … from outside the footprint
Now that the season is nearly four games in and Auburn has filled 18 spots in the class, it is time to narrow this list down to ten.
To compile theses lists, we’ve considered where we think each player sits on the Auburn board, Auburn’s need at the position, the Tigers’ chances of landing the prospect as well as the player’s skill set. Also, Auburn must have a legitimate shot of landing a recruit for him to make it.
These lists are extremely fluid. In recruiting, things can change on both sides in an instant. Auburn’s recruiting board will shift — and shift a lot — all the way up until National Signing Day in December.
Finally … please remember, this is our list, not Auburn’s.
The Tigers currently have 18 commits and the No. 14 ranked class in the country.
Tier 1
– WR, Cam Coleman, Central Phenix City (Ala.): Coleman remains committed to Texas A&M, and that commitment seems to be going well. Still, the Tigers are not slowing down in their recruitment of him. Tigers’ coach Hugh Freeze recently watched him play in person. Coleman is the No. 1 want for this staff it seems. He will be back at Texas A&M as the Aggies take on Auburn at home. Then, he will return to Auburn for its matchup with Georgia.
— RB, Kevin Riley, Northport (Ala.) Tuscaloosa County: Our intel has suggested that Riley was still listening to Auburn. Cadillac Williams holds Riley in high regard and that never changed when he committed to Miami. Riley popped back up at an Auburn game a week ago signifying that he and Auburn are at least in communication. Could it mean more than that? Maybe. Either way, Riley, for all of those reasons, is easily a tier 1 recruit in the “most wanted” this week.
— TE, Roger Saleapaga, Orem (Ut.): Saleapaga finally made it to Auburn for the Samford game. He admitted that he was not really feeling Auburn too much in his recruitment. That all changed when he made his visit. After the visit, our intel suggests that Saleapaga moved Auburn into his top group with Oregon and Colorado. He is even more wanted by the staff after his visit. He belongs in tier 1 this week.
Tier 2
— OL, Coen Echols, Katy (Tex.) Echols is still very high on the list according to our intel. He may be the most responsive and wanted of the offensive line targets committed elsewhere currently. There is a growing chance that he will make it to an Auburn game this season. For now, a good showing for Auburn against Texas A& would be a positive thing for the Tigers in his recruitment.
— DL, Jeremiah Beaman, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker: Beaman is a tier one want, but he falls in tier two as he will not be an easy flip. According to our intel, however, he is listening to Auburn and a few others such as Georgia and Colorado. It seems Beaman is open to the idea of flipping, but where Auburn stands is not quite as clear. Still, the Tigers are in this and will keep chipping away.
— JUCO Safety, Laquan Robinson, Holmes County Community College (Miss.): Robinson is scheduled to officially visit Auburn for the Georgia game weekend. Since that visit, confidence that Auburn will take and can land Robinson has been sky high. He is moving up the “most wanted” list this week.
Tier 3
— WR Ny Carr, Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County: Carr, a Georgia commit, was truly a surprise visitor during Big Cat Weekend. He walked in last minute only to watch Auburn pick up a 4-star receiver and flip a 5-star receiver from Alabama. Since then, things have gone quiet on this front. He is still highly wanted by Auburn and the Tigers are actively working to get him on campus for the Georgia game.
— Edge, Jamonta Waller, Picayune (Miss.) Picayune Memorial: Waller is solidly committed to Florida, but that has not stopped Auburn. The Tigers are staying afloat in this recruitment according to our intel. Flipping him, of course, will be a different story. Auburn is hoping to get Waller on campus for a game. It would be his first game visit. Either way, a most wanted list without Waller just would not be accurate.
— OT, Favour Edwin, McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian: Edwin is new to the list and a newer name to track in general. He has recently impressed coaches with his play on the field after not being able to play a year ago. Edwin, according to our intel, is high on Auburn and was highly impressed with the baptism that Freeze participated in on Auburn’s campus. Edwin is scheduled to officially visit Auburn for the Georgia game weekend.
— RB, David Eziomume, Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb: Eziomume, a 4-star Clemson running back commit, recently visited Auburn for the Samford game. Eziomume visited Auburn for a few games a year ago. He was somewhat incognito when seen (no name tag).. He made a tweet to down play the fact that he was at Auburn. Clemson has a policy, or at least has had one, to not allow its commits to visit elsewhere. Therefore, we believe Auburn is becoming a major player here. He comes in at tier 3 for his first “most wanted” appearance. I am now expecting him to make it to another game.. Maybe the Georgia game. That is not yet set in stone.
