Alabama releases hype video ahead of season opener vs. MTSU

Alabama has released a hype video ahead of its season opener against MTSU on Saturday and it will get you revved all the way up if you’re an Alabama fan.
The video starts off with a media snippet some someone wondering out loud why people aren’t seeing the signs of the Alabama dynasty decaying.
Clearly playing against that theme is going to be a big point of emphasis for Alabama this season, restoring the standard after finishing the 2022 season with an 11-2 record. The Crimson Tide want to take back over the SEC West after ceding the division to the LSU Tigers last fall.
“Everybody wants to have fun, but I don’t know what’s more fun than winning,” coach Nick Saban says in the video.
The hype video, which was released exactly 24 hours before kickoff, then fades to block and ends with a 24-hour countdown timer beginning.
First, though, you’re treated to a fantastic Alabama montage of highlights and clips promising a return to glory. It’s well worth your time.
“It’s going to take commitment, it’s going to take discipline,” defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe said in the video. “Staying with the standard that’s been built here. The past teams have showed, they’ve paved the way.
“If we keep that same mindset and that same goal for success that they had, there’s no reason why we can’t return to the top.”
Alabama makes starting quarterback decision
Hype videos aside, one of the biggest keys to Alabama’s success in 2023 will be replacing quarterback Bryce Young. After a lengthy fall camp battle, it appears Alabama has found his successor, at least for now.
Saban will start Jalen Milroe as Alabama’s starting quarterback in Week 1, according to ESPN‘s Chris Low.
Although he didn’t name the starter by name, Saban said on his coach’s show on Thursday night that he had informed the quarterbacks of his decision on who would start, but also said that he hopes to play multiple quarterbacks in the opener vs. MTSU.
“All three guys have made significant improvement,” Saban told Eli Gold on Hey Coach and The Nick Saban Show on Thursday night. “Would like to play more than one guy in the game. So I’ve told guy that’s going to start the game that we want you to play well enough so that we have an opportunity to play other guys at the position because that’s important to us.
“But whoever starts the game, it’s not their job in perpetuity because they have to perform well. And because they don’t have a lot of experience, I think we’re all interested in seeing how they all perform.”
