Alabama Recruiting: What we’ve learned after first 2 weeks in June

It’s been a busy two weeks for the Alabama Crimson Tide with the start of summer football camps and official visits. Alabama has welcomed 11 official visitors to this point. The Tide will host 10 prospects this weekend for an all-expenses-paid trip. BOL takes a look at what we’ve learned during the first half of the month.
O-Line starting to come into focus
Alabama picked up its first interior commitment from Joseph Ionata (Clearwater, Fla.-Calvary Christian) after he earned an offer during the Tide’s first camp on June 1. The Tide also appears in great shape for in-state lineman Willam Sanders (Brookwood) who also earned an offer after the first camp session. Sanders revealed a top three of Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State this week. A decision is expected in July. Alabama hosted two of its top tackles last weekend- Jordan Seaton (IMG Academy) and Daniel Calhoun (Roswell, Ga.-Walton). A few nuggets were posted earlier this week regarding Alabama’s position with Seaton. Calhoun named the Tide as his leader after the weekend. He has upcoming visits to Tennessee and Texas before a July decision. Top 100 OL Weston Davis (Beaumont, Texas-United) will take his first visit to Alabama this weekend. A few other major OL targets from the Longhorn State will visit next week- Casey Poe (Lindale) will visit on June 23-25, and Michael Uini (Copperas Cove) will on June 20-22. Marques Easley (Kankakee, Ill.) will also visit next weekend.

Both announced commitments to Georgia and appear solid with their decision. Caleb Odom, the No. 3 tight end per On3 Sports, named Alabama his leader after the visit. He visited Florida this past weekend, and spent the early part of this week at Auburn. He is not expected to announce a decision until July or August.Davon Mitchell, the No. 2 tight end in the 2025 class, visited Tuscaloosa last weekend. Mitchell will announce a decision on July 8. Oklahoma was considered the heavy favorite, but Alabama has closed the gap after the visit. The Los Alamitos (Calif.) prospect is originally from York, Alabama. He is currently on a visit to Oklahoma and travels to Miami next weekend. Alabama extended a new offer in the ’24 class on Thursday to Jay Lindsey (Butler, Ala.)Patrician Academy. The Tide may have a current edge for Jefferson after his weekend visit, but he’ll return to UGA this weekend. The Tennessee baseball commitment has been torn between the Tide and Bulldogs for the last few months.
