Alabama on a recruiting roll; who commits next?

Alabama on a recruiting roll; who commits next?

Alabama is on a heater right now and hoping it doesn’t end any time soon. The Tide has added six new commitments this month (five in the current class, and one in ’26). Caleb Odom, the No. 2 tight end in the country, announced his commitment to Alabama on Saturday evening.

Coach’s Take: New Alabama commitment is “really versatile”

The biggest question now is…

Who’s next?

William Sanders, four-star IOL, Brookwood (Ala.)

The in-state lineman is set to announce his decision on Friday at 3:00 p.m. (CST). The finalists are Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State. BOL has provided an extensive amount of coverage and shared the belief on where things currently stand heading to his decision. Alabama appears in strong position after several visits to campus last month.

Sanders recently made a big move in the updated On300 after multiple camp evaluations in June. He is now ranked the No. 5 interior offensive lineman in the country. Alabama added a commitment from the No. 1 interior OL, Casey Poe, on Wednesday. The interior was a top priority, and Sanders is a highly-coveted prospect by the Tide.

Jamie Ffrench, ’25 Top 100 WR, Mandarin HS (Jacksonville, Fla.)

2025 WR Jamie Ffrench is a major target for Alabama.

Alabama is off to a faster start with underclassmen commitments than it has been in the last several cycles. Alabama has four early commitments in the ’25 class including Ryan Williams, the No. 1 wide receiver in the country. UA is possibly closing in on Ffrench, the No. 4 receiver in the rising junior class. Ffrench will announce his decision at 1:45 (CST) on Saturday (July 22).

The finalists are Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State. He has visited Alabama four times including a return visit on June 6. He has built an early connection with Tide commitment Julian Sayin, five-star plus+ quarterback, and (Ryan) Williams. Alabama assistants Holomon Wiggins (WRs coach) and Joe Cox (area recruiter) have led the charge in Ffrench’s early recruitment.

A few other ’25 recruits BOL is watching closely include (in regards to ‘potential’ decisions): QB George MacIntyre (Brentwood Academy, Tenn.) DL Antonio Coleman (Saraland), CB Jaboree Antoine (New Iberia, La.-Westgate).

Demarcus Riddick, Top 100 LB, Chilton County HS (Clanton, Ala.)

Alabama LB target Demarcus Riddick.

The ‘final’ decision date is drawing near for the No. 2 linebacker in the country. Riddick has, at the very least, made things interesting in the last few weeks. The UGA commitment visited the Bulldogs along with Alabama and Auburn in June. He is expected to release the choice on July 26, his mom’s birthday.

Rumors have swirled for months of Riddick on ‘flip watch’ for the Crimson Tide. Nick Saban and the Tide staff have prioritized Riddick since extending an offer earlier this year. There isn’t much confidence on the Georgia side of Riddick sticking with his decision. There is, however, optimism on the Auburn side. This certainly appears an intense, in-state with each program expected to host Riddick this month.

Peyton Woodyard, Top 100 S, St. John Bosco HS (Bellflower, Calif.)

Peyton Woodyard during official visit to Alabama.

There isn’t a ‘final’ decision date for this Georgia commitment, though a lot of eyes are on Woodyard’s recruitment. He took official visits to Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and USC in June. The final visit in Tuscaloosa. Woodyard grew up in an Alabama household. The Tide has put on the full court press led by Travaris Robinson (DBs coach) and Holmon Wiggins (area recruiter). Coach Saban has also been heavily involved.

BOL spoke in-depth with Woodyard’s father, Gerald, after the recent visit. A few recent follow-up conversations have indicated a decision has not been finalized to this point. The family intends to sit down and discuss each option and hope to make the best decision for his long-term future.

Solomon Williams, four-star EDGE, Carrollwood Day School (Tampa)

Solomon Williams during Alabama official visit.

Williams took official visits in June to Alabama, UCF and Oregon. He recently named the Tide and Ducks as his top two schools, but also indicated distance may play a factor in the decision. Alabama has been in contact with Williams for several months. He is considered a priority target despite Williams only trip to Tuscaloosa last month.

Williams had an outstanding junior season which included 15.5 sacks and 32 tackles for loss in only 10 games. He is currently ranked as the No. 15 EDGE recruit in the country, and may continue to climb in the rankings after the season. The original plan is to announce in September, but Williams may decide a little sooner than expected. He also recently told BOL a visit to Alabama the last weekend in July is a strong possibility.

BOL provides the current take on each of these players exclusively on the RoundTable!
