Another game day at Alabama, another visit for highly coveted offensive tackle Micah DeBose.

The Mobile (Ala.) Vigor HS product was back at Bama on Saturday, marking his second visit to Tuscaloosa of the month (the other being Sept. 9.). DeBose, a Georgia commit since Jan. 16, had another positive experience at the Capstone this past weekend.

“The game was great,” DeBose told BamaOnLine. “As soon as they came out in the second half, it was a wrap… they’re definitely improving. I feel like they’re playing together more as a team instead of individually. I feel like they’re working more, talking more, and on the same page.”

After Saturday’s game, DeBose caught up with Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He also spent time with position coach Eric Wolford and area recruiter Kevin Steele. DeBose recently stated that his relationship with Wolford is top five, maybe even top three, in his recruitment.

“We were just really having a conversation. We were having a person-to-person conversation. I’m glad I’m getting to know them more on the personal level compared to them just selling me stuff,” DeBose said. “They’re really good people. Great people to talk to. I really want to go to a school where I feel like I can connect with my coaches, and I can definitely connect with them.”

DeBose spoke with BamaOnLine following his Texas visit. He stated at the time that Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and UGA are the schools pushing the hardest in his recruitment. That continues to remain the case.

Bama’s exact place in his pecking order wasn’t specified, but DeBose says the Tide are continuing to make progress.

“They’re definitely growing on me more and more,” DeBose said. “I always saw Alabama as, ‘Oh, everyone just wants to go there.’ Now I’m seeing Alabama from more of a player’s standpoint.”

This will not be DeBose’s last visit to Bama of the season. He will be back for either the Tennessee (Oct. 21) or LSU (Nov. 4) games this fall.

DeBose is not the only one who Alabama is growing on

On Saturday’s visit, DeBose was accompanied by his mother and one of his teammates.

DeBose says his mom — Shalimar DeBose-Chapman — likes what she has seen during their visits to T-Town.

“I can tell Bama is growing on her, too,” DeBose said. “She’s looking at it from the inside looking out. She’s taking in different viewpoints of Bama, just like me. She does like the people, and she likes how they can come back from adversity. Winning and losing doesn’t matter to her; facing adversity, how do they operate?”

DeBose, a Cleveland native, noted that his mom is an Ohio State fan. Even so, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class is not being pushed one way or the other in his recruitment.

“My mom is a big factor in my recruitment,” DeBose said. “I’m taking into account what she thinks. Taking guidance. It’s like we’re business partners.”

For a third time this month, DeBose will get to see to Alabama up close and in person. Participating in an event in Starkville this week, DeBose is heading to Mississippi State on Saturday for their game against the Crimson Tide.

As for his commitment to Georgia, DeBose had the following to say.

“It’s about a 50 – 50 chance right now of me staying committed,” DeBose said.
