Alabama DL commit says the 2024 class has a chip on their shoulders

Over a dozen future members of Alabama’s football program were in the stands for the Tide’s home matchup with Texas last Saturday. The Birmingham area was well-represented on the visitors list, with one of those attendees being defensive lineman pledge Jeremiah Beaman.
Beaman, who has been to Bama four times since committing on May 21, spoke with BamaOnLine about his most recent experience.
“It was very fun and exciting,” Beaman told BOL. “It was a great experience. Wasn’t my first time there, so it was just a great time to be down there. [The atmosphere] was different.”
Alabama’s defensive line did limit Texas’ ground game on Saturday, though they were not able to record a sack on quarterback Quinn Ewers.
Beaman, the On3 Industry Rankings’ No. 11 d-lineman, sees opportunity to contribute to and bolster the position group.
“They did all right up front. We could have done better,” Beaman said. “I feel like I could definitely contribute with my pass rush skills. Me stopping the run and getting to the ball. Just being an overall leader.”
When the game was over, Beaman had a quick conversation with head coach Nick Saban. He was also greeted by future position coach Freddie Roach.
“It was nothing much. Just seeing what I thought about the game,” Beaman said. “It was a good time. I always have a good time talking with Coach Roach.
“Coach Roach is a very down-to-earth, cool guy,” Beaman previously said of Roach. “On the field, he’s a different animal. We have an amazing bond. I think it’s unbreakable. It’s just the trust.”
Jeremiah Beaman: Alabama is building “an exciting class.”
Since committing to Alabama, Beaman has stepped foot on Auburn’s campus for an unofficial visit. The top-75 overall prospect in this class has also locked in an official visit with the Tigers for the final weekend of September. That will be the weekend they play Georgia (Sept. 30).
So, where do things currently stand with Beaman and his commitment to the Tide?
“I committed there for a reason. So, I wouldn’t want to switch up. It looks bad on my character,” Beaman said. “It’s just their home atmosphere. Being down there with the people I’ve made bonds and connections with.”
Beaman is a part of an Alabama class that is currently No. 4 in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings. There is still three months — five, including National Signing Day in February — left to make some more additions, but Beaman is thrilled with the group that’s been put together so far.
“I think we’ve got a good class,” Beaman said. “I think we’re building an exciting class. Just bringing new things to the table for Alabama. I feel like we probably do have a chip on our shoulders, but we just have to come out and be us. We’ve been recruited by them for a reason.”
It won’t be long until Beaman officially arrives in Tuscaloosa as he is aiming to be there in December.
“Yes, I plan on going to bowl prep,” Beaman said. “Just excited to get on the field, playing, and getting experience. Getting introduced to the college life.”
Beaman says he plans on going to a few more Alabama home games, but is not yet sure which ones those will be.
