After 7 commitments this month, who could be next for Florida State Football?

After 7 commitments this month, who could be next for Florida State Football?

Florida State has been one of the hottest teams on the recruiting trail since July 1, securing seven commitments this month — including several blue-chip prospects.

The latest commitment came Saturday from four-star running back Micahi Danzy, and it was the Seminoles’ third in three days, following four-star offensive lineman Jonathan Daniels and three-star offensive lineman Tye Hylton.

Now the question becomes, which prospect could be next to join FSU’s Tribe24? Here’s a closer look at the likely candidates:

5-Star DB Charles Lester III

This is the obvious one, as he is next up on the calendar. The five-star defensive back is set to make his commitment on July 28, deciding between Colorado, Florida State and Alabama.

Lester has been vocal about how he is much more comfortable at Florida State than anywhere else he has visited. The feeling around his recruitment is that the Seminoles have been the team from the start, and that appears to still be the case as his decision looms on July 28.

“I enjoyed the time, and it’s the place I’m most comfortable,” Lester said after his official visit, “I have the best relationship with Coach [Mike] Norvell than any other coach here. To have that type of relationship with the head man is special. His character, love, he always makes me feel like I’m a huge priority. He’s going to do whatever it takes to get me to the next level. Of all the head coaches, that guy makes me feel like the right priority.”

4-Star ATH Jalewis Solomon

As of now, Solomon is set to commit on Aug. 5. This is seen as a race between the Seminoles and South Carolina Gamecocks. However, this is one where we could see Solomon committing early.

After his official visit to Florida State, Solomon did tell Warchant he was originally thinking about making his decision in July.

“I thought I might commit sometime in July,” the 6-foot, 185-pound athlete said. “But talking with my mom, I don’t think I’ll be committing until August or early September. Florida State is probably No. 1 right now — No. 1 for sure. All I needed to see is this last visit, and they never disappointed me.”

The four-star prospect was set to take a visit to South Carolina at the end of July, but those plans have changed and he’s now heading over to see Auburn. Going into that Auburn visit, the intel suggests that the Seminoles hold the lead but the Gamecocks and Auburn remain players in this one.

This recruitment is also important because Solomon’s brother is 2025 five-star linebacker prospect Zayden Walker, who also joined him on the FSU official visit.

5-Star S KJ Bolden

This one will come as a surprise to some, but Florida State is well within reach here (see the report from On3 director of recruiting Chad Simmons). The Seminoles have always been Bolden’s dream school, and there was a clear moving of the needle on his last visit to Florida State. Bolden has a strong connection to the Seminoles’ coaches, and he likes the way FSU utilizes its safeties in this defense.

Over the past few weeks, Florida State has joined Ohio State and Georgia at the top of Bolden’s recruitment. The Seminoles might not be the favorite in this one, but they have been the team with the recent momentum. He even posed wearing all FSU gear with his father last week on Twitter.

“I definitely feel welcome here, every time I come up here,” Bolden said previously. “They always meet me at the door every time … they definitely rose their chances with me when I came down here. Definitely liking the school, definitely a lot right now for sure.”
