Aaron Rodgers update: New team emerges as betting favorite for former Jets QB in free agency

A new team is emerging as a betting favorite for Aaron Rodgers in free agency, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Three teams now sit atop the board with the best odds to sign the former New York Jets quarterback.
The Los Angeles Rams are now listed at +300 to sign Rodgers, according to DraftKings. They join the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders as the three favorites to land the four-time MVP after he parts ways with the Jets.
The Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans are behind the trio, sitting at +500, while the Minnesota Vikings are +550. The San Francisco 49ers have the seventh-best odds of signing Rodgers at +650 before a drop-off to the Cleveland Browns at +1200.
Rodgers spent two years with the Jets after coming over from the Green Bay Packers, but his first season in New York ended on his first drive of the 2023 season due to an Achilles injury. In 2024, he threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, along with 11 interceptions – marking two straight full seasons with at least 10 picks.
Now, after two years with the Jets, Rodgers is looking at free agency. The franchise announced they plan to move on from him with a new head coach and general manager coming in, providing an opportunity to hit the reset button.
Why the Rams have the best odds for Aaron Rodgers
As Aaron Rodgers weighs have his options, the Rams are an interesting team to jump to the top of the odds board. Their quarterback situation is in question around the rumor mill.
Rumors are currently swirling about Matthew Stafford’s future in Los Angeles as the franchise weighs changes on the offensive side of the ball. Cooper Kupp announced on social media the Rams told him they plan to either trade or release him this offseason, meaning an overhaul could be on the way for Sean McVay’s group.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently reported Stafford plans to play in 2025, but he and the Rams will likely need to work out a new deal if he wants to stay in Los Angeles. FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported Wednesday that McVay wants to keep Stafford, but the belief is a first-round pick would likely need to be in the compensation if the Rams want to make a trade.
This past season, Stafford threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns as the Rams rattled off a run to the postseason. It was another strong follow-up for the former No. 1 overall pick after he made his second career Pro Bowl in 2023.
