A look at all three Ohio State 2025 quarterback offers

The summer offseason is in full swing, and Lettermen Row is trying to survive it with our annual Position Week breakdowns. By the time all nine units and coaching staff at Ohio State have been covered, training camp and media days will nearly have arrived, and the return of football in the Horseshoe will be just around the corner. We’re kicking off our positional weeks with the most important position on the field: quarterbacks.
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is extremely selective when it comes to quarterback offers and the entire scouting process.
The Buckeyes have every reason to be, however. Under head coach Ryan Day, the Buckeyes have consistently finished as a top-five overall offense. They’ve sent three quarterbacks to the NFL in Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields and now C.J. Stroud.
And a glance at the quarterback room now shows two former five-stars with Kyle McCord and Devin Brown, a seasoned veteran with Tristan Gebbia and then Lincoln Kienholz, perhaps the best football player to come from South Dakota.
The next Buckeye great is already in the 2024 class with four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland.
Now Day, offensive coordinator Brian Hartline and quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis are full steam ahead with the 2025 cycle.
Ohio State has only offered three quarterbacks so far in that cycle. In the going on six recruiting cycles where Day is the head coach, the Buckeyes have offered an average of 8.6 quarterbacks per cycle.
Lettermen Row looks at the three quarterbacks with Ohio State offers and breaks down the Buckeyes’ position on each.

Let’s dive in.
Bryce Underwood
Five-star Belleville (Mich) quarterback Bryce Underwood is at the top of just about every program’s board for 2025.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback holds offers from Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and every other program under the sun.
It has quickly emerged, however, as a battle between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines.
Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect and No. 1 quarterback per On3, has visited both Columbus and Ann Arbor multiple times already. He will more likely than not visit both again this summer, perhaps camping at both schools.
His recruitment certainly will be one to watch as it more likely than not will set the rest of the quarterback dominoes for the cycle.
Ryan Montgomery
Four-star Findlay (Ohio) quarterback Ryan Montgomery was the first quarterback prospect in the 2025 cycle.
Montgomery is the No. 209 overall prospect and No. 14 quarterback per the On3 Industry Rankings.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect from Northwest Ohio holds nearly 30 offers and has visited numerous schools throughout his recruitment. Though he’s managed to find himself at Ohio State more than any other school.
Part of that is because he tagged along on visits with his older brother, Luke Montgomery, during his recruitment process, but those visits count the same.
The younger Montgomery made an unannounced stop at Ohio State back on March 25. The visit initially was supposed to be about seeing his brother. But it unintentionally turned into a pivotal moment in his recruitment.
“We went on that visit really just to see Luke, but coach Dennis was with me the entire day, he definitely prioritized me,” Montgomery said after the visit. “I was with him the entire time. During practice I was literally right behind him on the field, it felt like I was part of the team.
“They really just prioritized me throughout the day and I really appreciated that,” Montgomery said about his last visit. “It was really eye-opening.”
Tavien St. Clair
The most recent quarterback to earn an Ohio State offer also is an in-state prospect.
Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) signal-caller Tavien St. Clair announced his offer from the Buckeyes on Wednesday after Dennis visited his school.
St. Clair is the No. 291 overall prospect and No. 20 quarterback according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He has a long-standing relationship with the Buckeyes and has camped in Columbus every summer since he entered high school. St. Clair holds offers from Florida, Tennessee and Louisville among others.
