Nightly Recruiting Briefing: Previewing the decision of a pair of four-star Michigan State targets

In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss what could be a massive day for Michigan State recruiting on July 7. We will break down a pair of four-star Spartan targets decisions ahead of their July 7 announcement.
Four-star linebacker Dylan Williams- 4:30PM EST
Four-star linebacker Dylan Williams, and top target on the board for defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Scottie Hazelton, announced via social media that he will be making his decision at 4:30 eastern standard time on July 7.
Michigan State is hoping to shock the recruiting scene, pulling the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder out of Carson (CA) Long Beach Poly away from in-state powers Southern California, UCLA, along with West Coast powers Oregon and Washington. Williams took official visits to UCLA, Washington and Oregon, along with a trip to Michigan State on June 2. There is optimism in East Lansing that Williams will join the Spartan class, with Oregon remaining a large threat. Both teams have felt they were favorites coming down to the wire.
Williams is ranked a four-star the No. 158 overall recruit. He is ranked the No. 17 linebacker, and the No. 17 recruit in California by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.
Four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh- 5:00PM EST
Another Michigan State target that sits on the top of their board at their position in the 2024 class in four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh will also make his decision on July 7, announcing at 5:00pm eastern standard time. Marsh took official visits to Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Kansas, closing the month in East Lansing on June 23.
Michigan State is viewed as the team to beat heading into decision day, with Penn State and Pittsburgh both looming. The Nittany Lions are seen as the biggest threat. Like Williams, there is optimism in East Lansing regarding the final decision.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder is ranked a four-star, the No. 120 overall recruit. He is ranked the No. 21 wide receiver, and the No. 3 recruit in Michigan by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.
Adding Williams and Marsh would make both recruits the highest two rated commitments in the 2024 Spartan class. They potentially join On3 four-star safety Reggie Powers and four-star running back Anthony Carrie.
Michigan State offensive line commitment Andrew Dennis spent the evening recruiting both players.
