Texas picked first in Big 12 media preseason poll
For the first time since the Big 12 Conference went to a divisionless format, the Texas Longhorns were No. 1 in the Big 12’s media preseason poll. The Longhorns garnered 41 of the 67 possible first place votes, and tallied 886 points.

Kansas State followed the Longhorns with 14 first place votes and 858 points. Oklahoma and Texas Tech both received four first-place votes, with the Sooners placing third and the Red Raiders checking in at the No. 4 spot. TCU was fifth with three first place votes.
Baylor followed at No. 6, then, with one first place vote, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were seventh. The second half of the rankings were No. 8 UCF, No. 9 Kansas, No. 10 Iowa State, No. 11 BYU, No. 12 Houston, No. 13 Cincinnati, and No. 14 West Virginia.
All 14 teams will be in attendance at Big 12 Media Days at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 12-13.
