3 Auburn games that should provide fireworks

As you are setting off some leftover fireworks, or maybe cleaning up from the night before, here are the three games that should bring excitement for Auburn in 2023.
While looking at the schedule, these are the games that will hold weight for Auburn. Spoiler: the Iron Bowl will make the list every year, especially when it is played in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The other two games have some significance for the first year of the Hugh Freeze era in regards to his time in the SEC and, of course, in regards to recruiting.
Auburn @ Texas A&M – Sept. 23
Texas A&M came into a wild atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium a year ago and left with a loss. It was the first home game for Cadillac Williams as interim head coach. The stadium was packed, the team was rejuvenated, and the game was tight until the end.
After one of the better recruiting classes ever put together, A&M will have some more experienced talent when it hosts Auburn in September.
Even though A&M had a rough year in 2022, the Aggies have enough talent to be dangerous in every game they play in. They will certainly be dangerous for Auburn.
A few things: It will be the SEC opener for Auburn, the Tigers are now in a heated recruiting battle for 5-star wide receiver Cam Coleman, and there are several former Auburn coaches (and player) on the staff.
A lot will be on the line. Can Auburn storm in and make some early headlines? Can the Tigers take down what is considered to be a more talented roster? Will the Tigers make them pay for stealing an in-state top target at receiver? This will be an interesting game.
Auburn vs. Ole Miss – Oct. 21
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Not only are the Tigers and Rebels constantly in recruiting battles for transfer portal players (less high school players than this time a year ago), but the history with Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss is there.
Freeze is competitive and will have a chip on his shoulder. Also, did you know he’s actually from Oxford, Mississippi?
Lane Kiffin and his offense gashed Auburn on the ground a year ago rushing for 448 yards. That is embarrassing for an Auburn defense.
The Tigers will have plenty of motivation, and Freeze will be extra jacked up for the matchup understandably. Auburn was able to win a few recruiting battles against Ole Miss.. Can the Tigers get a big win against them on the field?
Auburn vs. Alabama – Nov. 25
A list like this without the Iron Bowl would be a ridiculous list. While the favored team normally wins in this series, crazy things seem to happen when it is played in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
One thing is very clear about this game under Freeze: he has a vendetta out for the Tide. Any coach that wants to last at Auburn has to approach it that way.
If, by chance, Freeze and the Tigers are able to steal Perry Thompson from Alabama, it will be like stirring up a hornet’s nest. Even at this point, Freeze has already become a nuisance by working on flipping several Tide commits.
If he is willing to invest that much time into trying to flip recruits (and he should) he will be motivated to find a way to win as well. An Auburn coach will not make it if he cannot find a way to win against Alabama.
