Blue Chips: Five-star QB Jadyn Davis locks in decision date; Michigan still team to beat

*** Per Langston Wertz of the Charlotte Observer, five-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis is set to make his decision on March 31. As I said over the weekend, I feel extremely confident in my pick for Davis coming out of a strong unofficial visit last weekend. Davis and his family bonded well with new quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell and obviously reconnected with head coach Jim Harbaugh. Those around the program felt very, very confident coming out of the trip, and again, I have no reason not to feel the same way. Davis will announce his Top 5 schools tomorrow, but there isn’t really much to be worried about here. Michigan is far and away the leader, and I’m not sure there is a true threat/another school pushing as hard. My confidence level here is 99 percent.

*** On300 Frisco (Texas) Reedy offensive lineman Max Anderson released his Top 8 schools today. That group included Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ohio State. I am very close to putting in a prediction for Anderson to land at Michigan, but there are two schools that I am watching closely. The first is Oklahoma. Anderson’s older brother, Nate, plays in Norman, and the Sooners are still working on Max. The second school is Tennessee. The NIL-friendly Volunteers are set to host Anderson for an OV this summer and are pushing hard. As I first reported, Anderson will be making an official visit to Michigan on June 16. It will be a prime opportunity for U-M to close.

*** On300 Austin (Texas) Vandegrift offensive lineman Blake Frazier is getting ready to release his top schools soon. I obviously expect Michigan to make the cut following a multi-day visit last weekend. Frazier, the son of ex-Wolverine Steve Frazier, grew up rooting for Michigan and obviously has a strong connection to the program. Frazier told me he has not set an official visit and is still figuring out a timeline. Honestly, his decision could come at any time. I still feel very confident in my prediction here, but there are a couple of schools worth monitoring. Clemson has recruited Frazier extremely hard, Oregon impressed on its visit earlier this month and Texas is getting him in for a visit this weekend.

*** Three-star Olney (Md.) Good Counsel wide receiver Elijah Moore recently released a Top 10 list that included the likes of Michigan, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State and Texas A&M. Moore isn’t a prospect we’ve talked about a ton, and he rarely does interviews. However, Moore has quietly moved up the Michigan wide receiver board as the Wolverines are looking to add a big body this cycle. Moore certainly fits the bill at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds. Penn State is considered the favorite here, but Michigan wide receiver coach Ron Bellamy is in constant contact, and the Wolverines are set to get him on campus for the spring game.
