Maryland small forward Ike Cornish is hearing from several programs, including Ole Miss
Ole Miss and head coach Chris Beard have been fast at work since arriving in Oxford. The new-look staff is not only working to retain current players but they are also working the NCAA Transfer Portal. And now they have contacted Maryland small forward Ike Cornish.
The 6-foot-6, 190 pound prospect entered the portal on Thursday. He is already hearing from Oklahoma State, Oregon, Villanova, Ole Miss, St. Bonaventure, Utah Valley, UNC Greensboro, Jacksonville and Towson, per Dwayne Wise of Team Durant EYBL.
Cornish played in 21 games in 2022-2023 but scored under two points per game. He was a Top 100 prospect coming out of Legacy Carter (Md.). He chose the Terrapins over notable offers from Georgetown, DePaul, St. John’s, VCU, Virginia Tech, Xavier and Rutgers.
Chris Beard and Ole Miss continue to add to their NCAA Transfer Portal inquiries list.
The Rebels have lost three to the portal already. And Beard’s staff are reworking and revamping the roster for the 2023-2024 season. Ole Miss has reached out to Wofford’s BJ Mack, Texas Tech’s Robert Jennings, Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Adante Holiman, Butler’s Jayden Taylor, Florida’s Kowacie Reeves, Vanderbilt’s Myles Stute, UMass’ Noah Fernandes, Minnesota’s Ta’Lon Cooper, Middle Tennessee State small forward Teafale Lenard. Illinois-Chicago shooting guard Jace Carter, Iona point guard Walter Clayton Jr., Northern Arizona point guard Jalen Cone and Brown shooting guard Paxson Wojcik.
