WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We had a commitment yesterday afternoon from Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood Academy four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot, and we have you covered with all the details behind his pledge to the Hurricanes and more.

Additionally, we have an analysis on Lightfoot as we break down his game and why he’s the No. 71 overall recruit and No. 5 EDGE in the class for a reason.

Also in recruiting news, we have an update with 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star interior offensive lineman SJ Alofaituli, who talks his early interest in the Hurricanes, and his teammate, 2024 Miami commit Elija Lofton’s pitch to join him in Coral Gables as well.

To wrap up your daily dose of recruiting news for the day, in honor of the Fourth of July, CaneSport wanted to take a look at a few Miami prospects who could set off fireworks by committing to the Hurricanes soon.

In team news, we continue our July Player Performance Index top 30 deep dive as we discuss No. 28 TE Cam McCormick, so you’re going to want to check that one out.

We also take a look at the Miami Hurricanes’ second-team defensive deficiencies and what needs addressing under first-year coordinator Lance Guidry.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.
