NASCAR pit crew members help fix up a car after fender bender in Chicago

NASCAR has truly taken over Chicago and is even out on the streets of the Windy City helping fix up cars after a fender bender. As the Kaulig Racing hauler sat and waited around on S Dusable Lake Shore Drive, a little accident occurred. Eventually, they were teaming up with LEGACY Motor Club to help out a motorist in need.

Sometimes bad things happen at the right time. While these drivers were trying to get home during the early traffic rush, they had to go by the NASCAR haulers which are parked out on the streets of Chicago. Maybe one driver was looking too closely at the haulers and not the road in front of them.

Long story short, this Hyundai met the backend of a Jeep. Guess which car came out on top in that interaction… As the event unfolded, the Kaulig Racing social media team got a tweet out about the wreck with a little racing joke in there. It’s a good thing NASCAR is in Chicago.

Moments later, Kaulig and LEGACY pit crew members are out on the street helping to repair the poor Hyundai.

Update: Some of our guys and some @LegacyMotorclub guys are helping fix it up! https://t.co/y9nMmfLi5P pic.twitter.com/2JhljUvKpv

If this doesn’t bring NASCAR and Chicago together, I don’t know what will. There is going to be a line of cars on that road waiting to get their tires rotated and their car looked over by these pit crews. While it is never fun to get in an accident, this was the best place to do it.

Before, this driver was having a regular day. Maybe they were frustrated by the NASCAR traffic in Chicago. However, they now have a great story and will hopefully tune into the race this weekend! Surely someone can give them tickets, right?

NASCAR is all over Chicago this weekend

You can’t go anywhere in Chicago and not see NASCAR this weekend. From Wrigley Field to Navy Pier and pretty much everywhere in between, NASCAR has a presence. On Thursday night as the Cubs closed out a series with the Phillies, John Hunter Nemechek, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Harrison Burton sang and entertained the crowd.

Then, you have Bubba Wallace and the 23XI Racing team all over the place. From Bubba’s Block Party to the Cubs series opener against the Guardians – Wallace and company have been there to celebrate and promote NASCAR in Chicago. Wallace even threw out the first pitch on Friday afternoon at Wrigley. Oh, and for those wondering, Kurt Busch was part of it all. He’s still around.

What NASCAR has done from an events standpoint is special. Based on reactions to the course on Friday as teams arrived, it might even be a good race. Expectations are all over the place right now. However, NASCAR has made itself known in Chicago, that’s for sure.
