Tampa quarterback Logan Rogers: Getting Florida Gators offer at FNL ‘a dream’

Tampa quarterback Logan Rogers: Getting Florida Gators offer at FNL ‘a dream’

Logan Rogers said getting an offer from Florida after last week’s Friday Night Lights camp was a little surreal.

“It was definitely a dream of mine,” he said.

Rogers’ name might be a relatively new one for those who track recruiting. But you’re likely to read a lot about him in the coming years.

He’s a 2026 quarterback at Tampa Bay Tech (Fla.) who’s 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, has a lively arm, 10-inch hands and a 4.6 GPA. And now he also has that Gators offer.

“It was great,” Rogers said of his Florida experience last Friday. “It was very competitive (at camp). There were a lot of great people out there. (Florida offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara) was great. Very personable. He made sure he had time with everyone after every rep. During 7on7, after every single throw he was giving a breakdown and asking what we saw in the defense, what coverage they were in. Just very personable. .. I thought I did amazing.”

Not long after camp ended, Rogers met with Florida coach Billy Napier. That’s when the good news came.

“It was me and my parents (there),” Rogers said. “(Napier) was saying I could sling it, and had a lot of potential and they’re going to go further in my recruitment. He said I was an early offer and that they’d love to offer me. It was amazing. Florida has always been like a dream school of mine since I was little.”

Rogers’ father attended UF.

“He was definitely really proud (about the offer),” Rogers said. “So that was great.”

Logan Rogers is primed for a big sophomore season

Rogers, 15, began his freshman year in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., but transferred to Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson. There, he played in the final three games of the season in 2022.

“I lit it up in those three games at Jefferson,” he said.

Thus far in June, he has camped at both Florida and Florida State. With the ‘Noles, he was a camp top performer.

To date, Florida and Appalachian State have offered. But, as Rogers noted, “a lot of schools are reaching out.”

Rogers said he hopes to return to Gainesville for a game this season.

Meanwhile, he is focused on having a big year at Tampa Bay Tech.

“Definitely here for good,” he said. “I love it there. I should have a big year. We have so much talent.”
