Texans sign UDFA Alijah Huzzie to deal worth millions after pre-draft injury
Alijah Huzzie wasn’t selected during the 2025 NFL Draft. Still, he’ll be paid handsomely after inking a deal with the Houston Texans, as it’s evident the team made him a priority as an undrafted free agent.
The former North Carolina defensive back signed a three-year deal with the Texans worth $2.675 million, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. That’s certainly not the norm for an undrafted free agent, but Wilson explained why Houston was eager to bring Huzzie to town.
“Alijah Huzzie graded as one of top nickels in 2025 NFL Draft, but went undrafted after torn ACL at East-West Shrine Bowl practice, per source,” Wilson added. “Equivalent of medical redshirt for him this year. He’s ahead of schedule and potentially could be ready late season.”
