5-star CB Kobe Black sets visit to Ohio State
Waco (Texas) Connally five-star cornerback Kobe Black will visit Ohio State this weekend. He announced the news on Twitter.
Black is the No. 14 overall prospect and No. 2 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Texas.
The 6-foot-0.5, 190-pounder holds several Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Oklahoma State as the favorite to land a commitment from Black at 29.7%.
Ohio State offered Black in February and this will be his first visit to Columbus.
Black kicked off the new year with visits to Texas (Jan. 21) and Texas A&M (Jan. 28). His spring tour started off with a visit to Oklahoma (March 4) and he told Chad Simmons that along with the visit to Ohio State, he hoped to visit Alabama and LSU.
He noted other programs like Baylor, Colorado, Michigan, Michigan State and TCU are also pushing for him.
“The coaches, really,” Black told On3 about what matters to him most on a visit. “They’re probably the biggest thing, see how they act too.”
Black currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $267K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
