WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Well, there’s plenty of news.
We will start out with a new commit, CB Ryan Mack. Read about his decision plus an analysis of his play and how he can fit in as a Miami Hurricane.
Then in baseball Miami’s new coach will be a guy who was in the dugout for a while at the program … longtime assistant J.D. Arteaga. You can read that news plus an inside look at what went down. Also don’t miss what Arteaga had to say about his vision for the program and his reaction to getting the job.
Miami Booker T. Washington’s Tim Harris is a legendary high school coach who has led the Tornadoes to state titles in 2007, ’12 and ’13. In between he has ties to the Miami Hurricanes program, coaching the running backs under Al Golden (2014-15) and working as assistant to head coach Randy Shannon from 2008-10. So you don’t want to miss what he has to say about Mario Cristobal and the current State of the Canes.
Then we have an analysis breaking down Miami’s top portal opponents. While the Canes have put some nice talent on their own roster for 2023, other teams have done the same.
In recruiting?
We catch up with Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie 2026 cornerback Xavier Iherisse. He has plenty of interest in Miami after picking up an offer from the Hurricanes earlier this month thanks in no small part to one of the Canes’ current roster members. So read all about that.
Also check out our recap of Sunday’s Mario Cristobal 7 on 7 camp. There was no shortage of talent in Coral Gables as the Miami Hurricanes hosted their final camp of the summer season, with some of the top high schools in South Florida and beyond in attendance.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I felt like this was the right time for me to commit because my senior year is approaching and I wanted to lock my spot in. I felt it was the time for me to decide where I want to spend my college career at. I feel The U is right for me because the coaching staff is extremely supportive and I know their goals align with mine.”
