1st round, 10th pick (Chicago) –
Kelvin Banks, OT, Five-star, No. 22 overall, No. 2 offensive tackle, No. 5 in Texas for the Class of 2022 = 97,49
New head coach Ben Johnson wants to bring his dynamic offense from Detroit to the Windy City. He has the QB in Caleb Williams, and needs a blindside left tackle. Humble (Texas) Summer Creek standout Banks is the call.
1st round, 12th pick (Dallas) –
Matthew Golden, WR, Four-star, No. 156 overall, No. 29 wide receiver, No. 27 in Texas for the Class of 2022 = 92.35
The speedy receiver from Klein (Texas) Cain flirted with the Horns during his recruitment before signing with Houston. Now, he’ll be one of the top pass-catchers off the board in tonight’s draft. The Cowboys are terrible at poker and have been intentional with the love for Golden. Now they have someone to pair with all-pro WR CeeDee Lamb in Big D.
1st round, 13th pick (Miami) –
Jahdae Barron, CB, Four-star, No. 413 overall, No. 36 cornerback, No. 58 in Texas for the Class of 2020 = 88.73
The Jim Thorpe Award winner had a fantastic career in Austin, playing multiple positions. The former Baylor commit flipped to the Horns late in the cycle and never looked back. And Miami needs defensive backs. The Dolphins had success with former Longhorn safety Brandon Jones, and Sark and Mike McDaniel have a solid working relationship.

What do these three have in common?
All were committed to another school before attending Texas. Banks with Oregon, Golden at UH, and Barron with Baylor. Tonight, they’ll join the long list of Longhorns to play in the NFL.
