Washington vaults into Top 25 of On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after 5-star flip

Washington just made a surprising splash on the recruiting trail. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene has flipped his commitment from Oregon to the Huskies, giving UW head coach Jedd Fisch the biggest recruiting win of his tenure in Seattle to date.
Greene, who’s originally from Washington, took an unofficial visit to the home-state school over the weekend. He’s now switched his pledge, giving the Big Ten program a key piece to a 2026 recruiting class that just made a big jump in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
With the addition of On3’s No. 10 overall prospect and the No. 4 OT in the nation, the Huskies jumped 15 spots and now have the No. 23 class overall. They vaulted the likes of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State, UCLA, Baylor and North Carolina.
Adding a prospect of Greene’s caliber could lead to some serious momentum on the trail for Fisch and his staff, who’ve now added two important commitments this month.
Looking at Washington’s 2026 class
Last weekend, Washington landed its quarterback this cycle, as Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic On300 QB Derek Zammit pledged. The four-star is On3’s No. 16 QB in the nation and a top-250 recruit overall.
“It was a lot of things,” Zammit told On3’s Steve Wiltfong about why he picked UW. “Obviously Coach Fisch, Coach Dougherty, Coach Losman, obviously they all played big factors in it. Just the relationship … Obviously the coaches, then the offense they run is pretty big and pretty important to me. They run a pro-style offense. Coach Fisch watched my film and showed direct comparison to their offense and the 49ers and Rams. That’s important to me.”
Zammit aside, the Washington pledge list carries a heavy local flavor. Eight of the nine commits hail from Washington, California or Oregon.
Portland Lakeridge three-star running back Ansu Sanoe has been in the fold since last April and is now the No. 33 RB in the cycle and the No. 2 player in Oregon. Last month brought a trio of commitments from Inglewood, Calif. native and IMG Academy (Fla.) three-star safety Ksani Jiles, Greene’s Mater Dei teammate and three-star safety CJ Lavender, as well as Tacoma (Wash.) Mount Tahoma three-star cornerback Elijah Durr.
