Jimmy Brumbaugh spent two seasons at Maryland from 2017-18 as co-defensive coordinator working under head coach D.J. Durkin and interim head coach Matt Canada. Brumbaugh joined former Kentucky assistant Andy Buh in College Park. After a season at Colorado in 2019 under one-and-done head coach Mel Tucker, Brumbaugh move to Tennessee in 2020 but was fired early in the COVID-19 season by head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The assistant coach served as an analyst under Mario Cristobal at Oregon in 2021 and as a defensive line coach at Auburn in 2022 under head coach Bryan Harsin before landing at Coastal Carolina.

Now the defensive line coach is back in the SEC where he will likely have a support staff role in Athens.

Jimmy Brumbaugh played a pivotal role in helping Kentucky sign junior college transfer Za’Darius Smith. The long-time NFL pass rusher played for Brumbaugh at East Mississippi Community College.
