The next Iowa Football commitment will be…

After landing a tight end commitment last week and a defensive line pledge on Monday, the momentum is building for the Hawkeyes and their recruiting efforts with the Class of 2024. After picking up Devan Kennedy to add to the defensive line group, which player will be next to commit to Iowa?

With the commitment of Kennedy, Iowa is now up to 13 verbal commitments in the Class of 2024. According to On3, the Hawkeyes are ranked 29th in the country for this class and 7th in the Big Ten.

Which players could be ready to join the Hawkeyes next?

There are two players who have already said that they will be committing soon. Jaylen Watson, a three star defensive back from Toledo, is set to announce his college choice on July 8th. Watson, who is related to former Hawkeye Fred Russell, is a strong lean towards Iowa with the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine saying there is a 97% chance that he is a Hawkeye. I have logged a prediction for Iowa as well.

Another upcoming announcement is wide receiver KJ Parker. He is a three star receiver from IC Catholic in Illinois and is coached by former Hawkeye Matt Bowen. He made his official visit his past weekend and there was a positive buzz about Iowa’s chances. I have logged an RPM for Iowa and the Hawkeyes are at 97.6% to land him. Parker is slated to make his announcement on July 1st.

But, it feels like there might be one or two more announcements before Parker gets to make his decision. So, who should we be keeping an eye on?

Two prospects to watch are three star tight end Gavin Hoffman and defensive back Rashad Godfrey. Both prospects made their official visit this past weekend and I have made hit the RPM and put in a prediction for Iowa.

Hoffman is a 6-foot-5 prospect from Overland Park, KS who made official visits to Iowa, Missouri, and Arizona State, appears to be close to making a decision. Right now the On3 RPM has Iowa at 90.5%, Missouri at 5.4%, and Arizona State at 2.8%.

Godfrey picked up an Iowa offer this month and quickly scheduled his official visit. He is from Armwood High School in Florida and it appears that he has developed a solid bond with the other defensive back prospects on the visit. The On3 RPM has him favoring the Hawkeyes at 98.5%.
