Kansas State loses commitment from 2025 prospect Ashton Magee

Just over a month after Ashton Magee became the first commitment of 2025 for K-State basketball, the Mississippi native has de-committed.

Kansas State sped up the timeline of Magee’s recruitment as the spring started. The Wildcats were still without a commitment from the high school ranks. After Magee, Exavier Wilson became the second commit of the cycle.

His recruitment was driven by Franklin Miskelly, the director of video and analytics who recently left K-State to be an assistant coach at UL-Monroe.

With the departure of the three-star prospect, the Wildcats now have just Wilson in the 2025 high school recruiting class. There are now seven open roster spots for K-State as they try to make it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023 next season.

This is the first time since Jerome Tang became head coach that Kansas State has lost a high school commitment.
