Newsstand: Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey visits priority QB target Nathan Bernhard

Tweets Of The Day

How much of a priority is 2026 quarterback target Nathan Bernhard? He’s high up there, and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Chip Lindsey proved it by visiting him on the first day of the spring evaluation period Tuesday. Bernhard recently picked up a Michigan offer.

More on Bernhard and U-M from The Wolverine’s Ethan McDowell from April 6:
“I’m extremely interested in Michigan,” Bernhard said. “I’ll just have to see how these next couple days and weeks develop. I think they’re really high up there for me.”

The nation’s No. 31 quarterback from Ashland (Ohio) High is nearing a decision after visiting the Wolverines last week. Indiana, Maryland and Ohio State are the main Power Four schools in contact with him these days. James Madison and App State also have his attention.

He’s ready to wrap up the recruiting process and only wants to take one official visit. Bernhard will not stop by Michigan again before making his college choice.

“I don’t have a specific date, but I’d like to get it done—I wouldn’t say ASAP—but fairly quickly here,” Bernhard said. “If I could get committed, definitely before the summer, that would be nice.”

On3 college football reporter Pete Nakos has received a raise and long-term contract extension after being proven correct on his reporting about one of the biggest stories in college football this year. Nakos broke the story that Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava was essentially holding out for more NIL money. Iamaleava has subsequently left the team and is entering the portal.

Congrats to @PeteNakos_ on a well-deserved raise and new long-term deal with @On3sports. One of the brightest young stars in college sports media — and an even better human. Proud of you, Pete. https://t.co/Eyo1CbHrzL pic.twitter.com/wS0LURCAar

Quote Of The Day

“I wouldn’t want to say a ‘package deal,’ but me and my brother kinda think the same since we grew up. A lot of the same stuff hit us both, and I think we handled it well. Just coming here, it’s really a blessing for both of us to be here, as it was at Arkansas.”
