An updated look at every 2025-26 SEC men’s basketball roster

It’s still early in the offseason, but most teams across the country are looking to put the finishing touches on their 2025-26 rosters with a few more additions.

At least compared to the rest of the Southeastern Conference, Kentucky is ahead of schedule in the roster-building department. Head coach Mark Pope is up to 12 scholarship players for next season and could very well add a 13th (Sam Houston guard Lamar Wilkerson) in the very near future. If UK can land Wilkerson, the roster might be complete. Considering where Pope was at this point last season (one day removed from his debut press conference at Rupp Arena), he’s done about as good a job as anyone at landing the pieces he believes fit his system.

But the rest of the SEC? Most teams have several spots to fill, plenty of them starting roles. If you’re someone curious (like I am) about how the rest of the conference is shaping up at this point in the offseason, then I’ve got the perfect tool for you.

There is still plenty of time left in the offseason for coaches to round out their rosters. Pope did it last year with a very late start. Texas A&M, which only has four players on the roster right now after hiring new head coach Bucky McMillan earlier this month, is in a similar position to where Kentucky was this time last offseason.

Looking at the rest of the conference, Kentucky appears to be in good shape and will likely be projected as one of the favorites to win the league. The SEC figures to take a step backward after a historic campaign in 2024-25 saw 14 teams make the NCAA Tournament. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee are losing multiple key players from last season. But the middle of the conference should still pump out a handful of tournament-caliber teams.
