Miami Hurricanes commit Juan Minaya sees several commits coming out of the weekend official visits: “We’ll end up in the top 10”

It was quite the Miami Hurricanes official visit weekend that wrapped up yesterday, with 20 top prospects on the list. That included several commitments, and one of them was Paramus (NJ) Paramus Catholic OL Juan Minaya.
Minaya’s job over the weekend? Helping to do some recruiting. He’s a solid Miami commit.
“I think we’re getting close on guys, turning some heads,” Minaya said. “I think four of the guys on the visit will be in the class. And I think we’ll end up in the top 10, with a top 10 class.”
Minaya will be a big part of it. He is the No. 1151 overall prospect and No. 86 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
He’d visited Miami twice before this and says his goal on the trip aside from recruiting was just spending more time with players and coaches.
“Coach (Mario) Cristobal and coach (Alex) Mirabal, they said they love me and will coach me hard when I get here,” Minaya said, adding that “The whole weekend was awesome. We did a lot, it was a lot of fun.”
He came on the trip with two of his high school coaches.
While Minaya is a Miami commitment, he says other programs continue to reach out to try and sway him including “everyone in the ACC.”
So what’s his status now?
“I mean, I’m 1,000 percent solid,” Minaya said.
CaneSport’s take
Minaya says he’s locked in with Miami because “of the people, for sure.” While Minaya plays tackle in high school he said that Miami coaches discussed playing guard and tackle at the next level. “I can play any position on the football field,” he says.
