4-star LB TJ White logs North Carolina official visit

Bill Belichick and the new staff at North Carolina continue to stack recruiting wins and are charging for a top-20 class in the 2026 cycle. Official visit season is getting underway and the Tar Heels had a major visit on campus over the weekend.
Jackson (Miss.) Academy four-star linebacker TJ White has had UNC around the top of his process for some time and he made his way to Chapel Hill for an important OV, his second visit to the ACC program this spring.
White has seen contenders emerge in his recruitment throughout the year. North Carolina is one of the newcomers, and the new regime in Chapel Hill has clearly made the blue-chipper a priority this spring.
After White landed an offer from the ACC program in February, he visited last month and quickly locked in an OV for this past weekend. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has loved what he’s seen from Belichick and Co.
“North Carolina is very high on my list,” White told On3’s Chad Simmons after his visit last month. “They are somewhere in my top five.”
The Tar Heels are battling Wisconsin, Florida State, Tennessee and Mississippi State — each of which also have official visits locked in — for White. His high school teammate, three-star wide receiver O’Mari Johnson, committed to UNC earlier this month.
He is the No. 163 overall prospect and No. 10 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 8 player in Mississippi.
On3 ranks him higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 61 recruit, No. 5 LB and No. 5 player in the Magnolia State, per the On300.

To date, the Tar Heels have 13 commits in their 2026 class, two of whom — North Duplin (N.C.) four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin and Spartanburg (S.C.) Mountain View Prep four-star running back Jaylen McGill — are blue-chippers.
McGill is the newest addition to the class, as he pledged on April 12. He’s a top-300 recruit and top-20 RB in the nation. Ruffin is the No. 205 prospect and No. 21 DL in the cycle.
Alongside McGill, four others have committed to UNC this month: Johnson, Columbus (Ga.) Carver three-star WR Kei’Maurii Miles, Gulfport (Miss.) Harrison Central three-star WR Darrion Kirksey and High Point (N.C.) Christian Academy kicker David Green.
The class currently ranks No. 24 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s good for No. 5 in the ACC, ahead of Syracuse, SMU, Duke, Georgia Tech and others.
