Freddie Dubose to enter the NCAA transfer portal
Texas wide receiver Freddie Dubose, who Inside Texas’ Justin Wells reported on March 26 had left the program, plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Dubose did not play in 2024. He suffered multiple knee injuries in high school and never was healthy enough to suit up for a game at Texas.
Dubose was the No. 436 overall prospect, the No. 72 wide receiver, and the No. 68 overall prospect in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranked Dubose as the No. 83 wide receiver and the No. 83 player in Texas.
He’s the first member of Texas’ 2024 class to leave the program.
Upon his commitment, Dubose explained why he wanted to be at Texas
“First and foremost, man, that coaching staff is something different,” Dubose said. “They’re real about what they say and being able to play under Chris Jackson with all the experience he has had before, it put me in a good position to know that he can help me even more (with) trying to achieve my goal of going to the league, developing me to be the best I can be on and off the field at all times as a man and a player. And as they say, it’s a 40-year decision, not a four-year decision. I feel like Texas is everywhere and when football comes to an end, I know Texas’ family will take care of me for the rest of my life.”
