Florida slugger Jac Caglianone shatters BBCOR era single-season HR record

The Florida Gators are absolutely throttling the LSU Tigers on Sunday night during their Game 2 matchup in the College World Series. The Gators had to win on Sunday night to force a decisive Game 3 and they have not been messing around. Florida has been putting up ridiculous numbers. The Gators currently lead 19-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning, thanks to a record-breaking home run from their slugger, Jac Caglianone. He’s one of the best two-way players in all of college baseball and on Sunday evening, he put himself in the record books. Caglianone shattered the BBCOR era single-season home run record after he destroyed his 33rd home run of the season.

Caglianone was a Golden Spikes Award finalist this year. He became the sixth player from Florida to be named a Golden Spikes Award finalist and he was the first Gator since Brady Singer did it in 2018. He’s also earned SEC Player of the Week honors twice during his prolific 2023 campaign. The gifted two-way player also earned MVP honors for the 2023 Gainesville Regional.
