Nebraska rolls past Georgetown 81-69 in College Basketball Crown quarterfinals
LAS VEGAS – After recording the program’s first postseason win since 2019 two nights earlier, Nebraska kept it rolling in the College Basketball Crown quarterfinals.
Brice Williams scored 28 to lead the Huskers to an 81-69 victory over Georgetown on Wednesday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Strong Nebraska defense and poor Georgetown shooting led to the Huskers (19-14) jumping out to a commanding 14-point lead out of the gate. Williams had 10 of his 28 points at the break to help NU take a 34-24 advantage into halftime.
That marked NU’s first halftime lead since being up 34-28 at Oregon on Feb. 2 – a stretch of 10 straight games.
Nebraska built that lead to as many as 19 in the early minutes of the second half, but Georgetown kept it interesting. The Hoyas (18-16) scored 45 points on 50% shooting after halftime, cutting their deficit to down to eight with 9:21 still to play.
The Huskers kept the game in control at the free-throw line, though, going 10-for-12 at the stripe over the final 20 minutes and 16-for-18 for the game.
With the win, Nebraska advances to the semifinal round against Boise State on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. That game will tip-off at 12:30 p.m. CT on FOX.
