4-star DB J’Vari Flowers commits to Florida, adds to Gators’ 2025 class

Florida has made its final addition to the 2025 recruiting class, with four-star Miami Northwestern cornerback J’Vari Flowers committing to the Gators Monday.
He chose UF over Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia and Auburn after taking official visits with each program during the month of March. Flowers reclassified up from the 2026 class in January, where he was considered one of the top prospects in the country regardless of position.
After a standout performance at Under Armour All-America Bowl week, he made the move and became one of the few unsigned 2025 recruits left on the board. Ultimately, the Gators won out over the Hurricanes, signaling another big victory on the recruiting trail for Billy Napier and Co.
“Seeing the field early, depth charts and player development are three things that will be important when I commit,” Flowers told On3’s Chad Simmons last month.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder is the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 16 cornerback in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3, however, remains higher on him than other services despite his decision to move up a year. In the final On300 rankings of the cycle last month, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 82 recruit and No. 10 CB.
J’Vari Flowers Scouting Report
On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power writes this about Flowers:
“Elite athlete at corner who doubles as one of the top returners nationally. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds in the offseason before the 2024 season. Reclassified late in the process, joining the 2025 cycle in January 2025. At top combine athlete who is also a star sprinter. Posted a scintillating 10.43-second mark in the 100 meters along with a 20.95-second time in the 200 meters. Has the speed to run with any receiver. Good fluidity and is able to change directions well. Physical as a run defender and isn’t shy in lowering his shoulder. Closes quickly in defending the quick game. Dynamic return man who shows the ability to take kickoffs and punts to the house. A top talent with the ball in his hands. Helped his Miami Northwestern team to a state title in his final season. Had a great week of practice at the Under Armour All-American Game, earning Top Performer status for On3. Slight of frame and not physically imposing. Will need to add strength. Has early round upside with physical development.”
