How Kentucky can beat Tennessee a third time — Zoom Action breaks down the film
Can Kentucky beat the Tennessee Volunteers three times in the same season? KSR’s Zoom Action dove into the film room to dissect the Wildcats’ chances.
Mark Pope coached Kentucky to a regular-season sweep of Rick Barnes and the Vols. Thanks to excellent defense and terrific outside shooting (a combined 24-48 clip from deep), the ‘Cats were able to take the game in Knoxville and the one in Lexington. But round three is win or go home with the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis serving as the setting. Tennessee was able to cruise to victory in its first two NCAA Tournament games (played at Rupp Arena, of all places), but does UK simply have the Volunteers’ number?
Brandon Ramsey and I looked back on both of those regular season wins for Kentucky to see what can translate (or what needs to change) heading into Friday night’s showdown. It’s time to break down some tape with the Zoom Action crew.
