Newsstand: ESPN taps Notre Dame pass-catcher as breakout player for 2025 campaign

On Friday, two days after Notre Dame football kicked off their spring session, ESPN’s Jake Trotter named wide receiver Jaden Greathouse the Fighting Irish’s breakout player for the 2025 season, citing his efforts in the College Football Playoff.
In Notre Dame’s four postseason games, Greathouse, a rising junior out of Austin, Texas, caught 16 passes for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns. Thirteen of those receptions and 233 yards came in their final two games against Penn State and Ohio State.
“That spectacular ending could prove to be a springboard for Greathouse to be even greater in 2025,” Trotter said.
Through the first two years of his career, Greathouse has hauled in 60 throws for 857 yards and 9 touchdowns in 23 games. He projects as one of Notre Dame’s pass-catching options next season.
