Missouri hands No. 2 Oklahoma first loss of the season

Missouri handed its former Big 12 foe, Oklahoma, its first-ever SEC loss and first loss of 2025. Cierra Harrison and Taylor Pannell held the high-powered Sooner offense in check as the Tigers won 3-1 on Saturday.

Madison Walker hit a solo shot off of Isabella Smith in the first inning. Stefania Abruscato tacked on an RBI double to put the Tigers out in front early.

Missouri had a chance for more in the second, loading the bases without any outs. However, Smith got out of the jam by striking out Walker and rolling an inning-ending double play. That was the theme for both sides as combined to leave 18 runners on base.

Kierston Deal did come in for Smith in the third inning and settle things down. Deal allowed a homer to the first batter she faced Taylor Ebbs, but that’d be the only hit she allowed in four innings of work.

Deal ran into trouble in the bottom of the sixth after a leadoff walk and Deal committed an error on a throw to put runners on second and third. However, she escaped the jam unscathed. Isabela Emerling picked off Mya Dodge coming off a little too far from third base. Deal got the next two batters.
