Live Updates: Tennessee hits the road for Thursday showdown with Alabama

Tennessee baseball is back in action Thursday evening as the Vols venture into a true road game environment for the first time this season with Alabama in Tuscaloosa. First pitch for the series-opener is set for 7:30 pm ET.

The No. 1 Vols (20-1, 3-0 SEC) will be without starting second baseman Gavin Kilen (lower-body) for the series-opener on Thursday after getting roughed up a bit late in Tuesday’s game with east Tennessee State. No. 12 Alabama (21-1, 3-0 SEC) is coming off a weekend sweep of Texas A&M on the road.

Thursday’s pitcher’s dual should be a great one with a pair of lefties toeing the rubber. Liam Doyle (3-0, 0.72 ERA) gets the nod for Tennessee while Zane Adams (3-0, 3.00 ERA) will start for the Crimson Tide.

Tennessee dropped its first contest of the season on Tuesday night when it fell 7-6 to East Tennessee State. Prior to the loss, the Vols had won 22-straight games dating back to the end of the 2024 season. The 20-0 start to the year was the best start in program history.
