Georgia Amoore received the first of what will likely be a few more All-American honors before her college career comes to an end.

A Third Team All-American last season with Virginia Tech, Amoore has been even better in her first and only season at Kentucky. On Tuesday, she was tabbed a 2024-25 Second Team All-American by The Sporting News. The Australian native is averaging a career-high 19.1 points, 6.9 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and one steal in 36.3 minutes per outing. Her assist and minutes played numbers were tops in the SEC.

Amoore is also shooting a career-best 42.5 percent from the field along with a 32.4 percent mark from deep and an 84.5 percent clip from the free throw line. She helped the Wildcats rank among the Top 25 all season long, resulting in a fourth-place finish in the SEC regular season standings.

Amoore has been hauling in plenty of hardware over the last few weeks. She was named a First-Team All-SEC performer and was also the conference’s Newcomer of the Year. The 5-foot-6 floor general is one of five finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year award and is a finalist for multiple National Player of the Year honors. ESPN even crowned her the nation’s Transfer of the Year.

With Amoore running the show, she powered Kentucky to a 4-seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament under first-year head coach Kenny Brooks, who brought Amoore to Lexington from Virginia Tech. Amoore finished 13 games this season with at least 20 points, including a 43-point explosion in a road win over Oklahoma, tied for the most points in program history for a single game. She also posted a pair of double-doubles with points and assists.

Later this week, Amoore and UK will host the first two rounds of the tournament inside Memorial Coliseum. The Wildcats will take on 13-seed Liberty (26-6) in the first round Friday with tipoff set for noon ET on ESPN.
