2025 4-Star QB George MacIntyre got a different look at Alabama this week

George MacIntyre made his third visit to Alabama this week. The No. 12 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry first visited Tuscaloosa for the Texas A&M last fall. The four-star quarterback out of Brentwood (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy was back for a spring practice. Then this week, MacIntyre spent a couple of days around campus to get a different view of the Crimson Tide.
“This visit was more based on, if at Alabama, what it would be like to be a player there,” MacIntyre told On3. “I got to through like a full day as a player at Alabama. I got to see the campus, the facilities, the new weight room and be around the guys.
“I went to dinner with Ty Simpson, Tyler Buckner, Dylan Lonergan and Coach Tommy Rees too, so that was great. It was a good experience to be around those guys and to get a feeling for what it would be like if I decided to be a quarterback at Alabama.”
Having the No. 1 prospect in Tennessee back walk in the shoes of Alabama players didn’t hurt the Tide’s chances.
“I could see myself there. They are definitely winners at Alabama. Everything they do is based around national championships and they have a certain style of play. They are hard-nosed, focused, talented and they put it all together very well.
“I think it all comes from the head coach, Nick Saban. It is all about his mentality. He might be older, but he is as firey and competitive as any coach I have ever seen. I really respect that about him.”
MacIntyre will be back in Knoxville to throw on Sunday. Tennessee is one of the schools Alabama is up against for this elite signal caller.
Alabama is high on MacIntyre’s list and he’s high on theirs
Alabama is very selective on who they truly target and pursue each cycle. Because they are Alabama. They recruit on another level under Saban.
MacIntyre feels he is not only wanted by the coaching staff, but by other players that will be playing in Bryant-Denny Stadium one day.
“They made it clear to me since the day they offered that I am their No. 1 guy in 2025.” MacIntyre said. “Each time I have visited, I have had a great time around the coaches. In the spring, not long after Coach Rees got there, we got to know each other. We spent more time together this time. Coahc Saban has been the same way.
“I not only got more time with Coach Saban and Coach Rees this week, but I got closer to some of the 2025 Alabama recruits. A lot of highly-ranked guys, some that people don’t even know yet that are likely going to Alabama, are reaching out about me being the quarterback and things like that.
“Then, Ryan Williams, an Alabama commit, I know him pretty well. I would love to play with him in college. The attention Alabama has shown me has been great. It has been from everyone and they have done a great job recruiting me so far.”
MacIntyre is feeling the love and he is starting to show it back. The third visit has put Alabama in a favorable position.
“My interest level in Alabama is high. Ever since they have offered me, they have been one of my favorite schools. I didn’t grow up an Alabama fan, but I wasn’t an Alabama hater either. I have always admired what Alabama and Coach Saban has done there.
“Once you get past the part of it being a cool feeling to be recruited by Alabama, and look at it as just another great option for school on the next level, you can really look at the positives and negatives about being at Alabama. It is a great place.”
