Report: New York Jets signing Jamin Davis to one-year contract

Linebacker Jamin Davis has a new home. The former Washington Commanders first round pick is reportedly re-signing with the New York Jets.

According to Jordan Schultz, Davis will have a one-year contract with the Jets. There, he will look to reset his career under new head coach Aaron Glenn. That’s after Davis had spent the 2024 season with four different teams. In October of 2024, he had been released by Washington. Then, in a series of signings, He subsequently ended up playing for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and eventually the Jets.

In the end, Davis only played nine games in what was a disjointed 2024 season. In those games, he managed 18 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and a sack. Over the course of his four year career, he’s played in 54 total games and has 287 total tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, and 8.0 sacks. He’s also forced a pair of fumbles and has an interception.

Coming out of Kentucky, there were massive expectations on Jamin Davis. He would be selected with the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. That came after an impressive pre-draft process for Davis, which saw him run a 4.47 second 40-yard dash and put up 21 reps on the bench press.
