Michigan basketball standouts Vladislav Goldin, Danny Wolf earn All-Big Ten honors

Michigan Wolverines basketball graduate center Vladislav Goldin and junior forward/center Danny Wolf earned All-Big Ten honors, with the conference announcing its 2025 regular-season awards Tuesday.

Goldin was named first team by the media and second team by the coaches, while Wolf was tabbed as second team by both the coaches and media.

No Michigan players made the third team or were chosen as honorable mentions.

Wolf and Goldin are Michigan’s first two All-Big Ten selections since 2023, when Hunter Dickinson (first team, media; second team, coaches), Kobe Bufkin (third team, coaches; honorable mention, media) and Jett Howard (third team, coaches; honorable mention, media) were listed.

Purdue guard Braden Smith was named the Big Ten Player of the Year. Penn State guard Ace Baldwin Jr. is Defensive Player of the Year, Illinois guard Will Riley is Sixth Man of the Year and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo is Coach of the Year.

Goldin, a 7-foot-1, 250-pound Florida Atlantic transfer, is Michigan’s leading scorer with 16.7 points per game, adding 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He’s been at his best offensively in recent games, scoring 20-plus points in each of the last four. He and Wolf are tied atop the team with 43 blocks a piece.

Wolf, a 7-foot-0, 250-pound Yale tranfer, is second on the Michigan team with 12.9 points per game, and paces the squad with 9.7 rebounds while adding 3.7 assists.

Both standout big men helped Michigan have an incredible Big Ten season, finishing 14-6 and tied with Maryland for second place in the conference. The Wolverines are 22-9 overall and projected to comfortably make the NCAA Tournament.

“When you look at Vlad’s Big 10 conference production, at 19 [points per game] and whatever it is, 7 or 8 rebounds, it’s incredibly impressive,” Michigan head coach Dusty May said Monday. “And then the same with Danny, when you look at the double-doubles.

“So, I’d be shocked if those guys didn’t walk away with some nice awards, and especially, we’re tied for second, so playing for a team that finished at the top of the standings and was playing such meaningful games all the way to the final week. I can’t imagine those guys aren’t rewarded accordingly. I’m excited to see those guys get the rewards that they deserve.”
